NASA: First Woman
Download on iOS
I joined Bully! Entertainment after completing Flatiron School, and a few weeks after I was asked to design the user experience for an app that was being created for NASA. The goal of the App was to promote space travel to the next generation, by creating a graphic novel/comic book and series of AR (and vr) experiences.
Proud to work on a project for NASA, I was brought on in the beggining of the project, as the sole UX Designer, and I also believe I played an important role on the overall strategy and structure for the approach of the project. I also had the chance to present to Derek Wang, director of communications at NASA multiple times.
The 3 main areas that I focused on designing included:
The iOS App: Which enabled users to browse the graphic novel and learn more about the Artemis mission, by exploring objects in Augmented Reality, and travel through immersive environments.
WebXR App: Enabled users to get a baseline AR experience without downloading the app to explore some of the various components involved in Artemis. I really enjoyed how the UX came out here.
Microsite: The splash page that connected the various aspects of the experience together.
All in all, the App was nominated and won, the “Best Integrated Mobile Experience” Webby award last year, and was also featured by Apple to kick of “Womans History Month” celebration.
